The Remote Island Medicine program offers financial aid eligibility, with program fees subject to change and not including airfare, covering accommodations with local families or in dorm-style hotels, two meals per day, cultural excursions, health insurance, and 24/7 on-site support, while excluding personal expenses and travel costs during the program.

The Remote Island Medicine program includes pre-departure and on-site orientations, requires participants to arrange their own travel and obtain necessary visas, provides transportation for scheduled activities, and offers GeoBlue Global Health Insurance, while advising LGBTQIA+ travelers to research local laws and protections before departure.

Dr. Elisabeth Lore holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from UC Davis, specializing in French, Caribbean, Chicanx, and multilingual literatures. Her current research explores Mediating Literature, a genre focused on negotiating relationships between conflicting cultures, particularly those shaped by immigration.

The Remote Island Medicine program includes two weeks of hotel or dorm-style lodging in Manila, followed by three weeks with screened homestay families in remote areas, offering two meals daily and various excursions, while providing insights into the local culture and health care challenges in the Philippines.
