Global Guide
Hello all! My name is Clara Ainsworth, and I am a second-year double majoring in Psychology and Linguistics, with a minor in French. I am from a small town called Lompoc on California’s central coast, and it was six years of French classes with one amazing teacher that my love for linguistics and learning about other cultures developed. I’ve been fortunate enough to have unique educational experiences in three continents through Girl Scouts USA, from getting my scuba diving license in Panama to visiting Shinto shrines in Japan! Most recently, I spent a month in Strasbourg, France, studying Biological Psychology through the UC Davis Global Learning Hub. This study abroad was the perfect chance for me to combine my research interests in Psychology with my passion for French language and culture! Having real-world French conversations and being able to interact with diverse members of the Francophone community throughout the country (and even across borders!) was a truly memorable experience that I want to share with others through my work as a Global Guide. When I am not on the travel grind, I love training with UC Davis Triathlon, painting, playing my guitar, and spending time in nature.
